Founded in 1904 the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is one of the largest global professional accountancy bodies with over 370,000 members and students in 170 countries. ACCA members work in a wide range of environments from the public sector to commerce and industry and accountancy practices.
The ACCA professional Qualification is designed to provide the accounting knowledge, skills and professional values for finance professionals who are capable of building successful careers across all sectors, whether they are working in the public or private sectors, practising in accounting firms, or pursuing a career in business.
For full membership candidates must pass all three stages of the ACCA examinations and need a minimum of three years’ relevant accountancy experience.
Who studies for the ACCA Qualification?
The ACCA programme is most suitable for those that aspire to become professionals in any sector of business.
University graduates of any discipline can join the programme. No previous knowledge of accounting or finance is required.
How long does it take to finish the ACCA programme?
The ACCA Qualification is designed to be flexible. Students plan their studies individually and can take a maximum of four exams every six months.
Those that hold University degrees may be given exemptions from certain examinations. Depending on the number of exemptions, a candidate should expect to complete the programme in 3 - 4 years.
ACCA syllabus and examinations
14 exams must be passed, divided into two levels – Fundamentals and Professional. The Fundamental level is subdivided into 2 modules – Essential and options.
The exam sessions are organised directly by ACCA and take place twice a year, in June and December. Exams in Russia can be taken in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
ACCA’s professional examination scheme covers areas such as Management & Financial Accounting, Auditing, Law, Business Strategy & Taxation. The scheme is a highly relevant, targeted combination of study and practical experience.
